8261 Livestock

The semi stock trailer Model 8261 is 8’6” wide, and its length ranges from 48’ to 53’. Livestock on both decks are secure walking on the aluminum treadplate, and the entire trailer is safe on the 25k axles with air brakes. Livestock are loaded through the streetside solid rear door with a roll-up, and each deck is equipped with a streetside escape door. Popular options include a rear ramp, electric dump valve and sprinkler system.

Featherlite uses the pierce-and-roll rivet system in the fabrication of its roof to minimize water leakage. This system is also used by airplane manufacturers, and it fastens the aluminum sheets to each other without piercing the inner sheet. Water has a harder time entering the trailer, since no rivet hole fully pierces the trailer’s roof.
