All-aluminum construction
Featherlite customers have confidence in knowing their horse trailers are made with an all aluminum frame and skin. Featherlite trailers traditionally hold their value longer, and owners report that an aluminum trailer offers a higher payload capacity. Aluminum trailers have superior resistance to rust and corrosion with simple routine maintenance, and since a Featherlite trailer is lighter than comparable steel trailers, customers report benefiting from fuel savings and a smoother tow. Durable all-aluminum construction gives you many more miles of hauling than steel horse trailers offer.

‘Wave’ side panels
The sleek ‘Wave’ side panels on a Featherlite horse trailer gives the trailer a dynamic appearance. The undulating design of the side panels is standard on Featherlite horse trailers with aluminum side panels.

L.E.D. wraparound lights
Featherlite trailers are outfitted with state of the art LED wraparound lights that give trailers more visibility when traveling at night. LED lights also use less energy and last longer than conventional lighting. 

“Light Flo” feed doors
A Featherlite horse trailer’s “Light Flo” drop-down feed doors allow up to 90 percent more airflow and light into the horse area. This helps horses stay calmer and more relaxed while traveling and during loading. With their centered handle, Featherlite’s feed doors are also easier to operate. The feed doors also include a rubber hold down that more securely holds the feed door in place when it is in the down position during hauling.

Pierce and roll
The pierce and roll system, usually associated with manufacturing airplanes, is also used in the construction of each Featherlite horse trailer’s roof. The pierce and roll system drives high strength rivets into the aluminum trailer, but no hole fully pierces the roof’s skin. Instead a secure, water-resistant crown forms up and around the bottom of every rivet, reducing opportunities for water leakage. Standard riveting used by other manufacturers can create hundreds of holes in the roof of a horse trailer where water can infiltrate if rivets or openings become worn.

Wiring harness
With Featherlite horse trailers, all wires are bundled in a protective jacket, known as the Featherlite wiring harness. This wiring harness provides a watertight seal, protects against wear and tear and makes connecting wires to your vehicle easy. Without the harness, the individual wires would hang loose and unprotected.

Aerodynamics
Bumper pull Featherlite trailers feature aerodynamic v-noses. These make the horse trailer more wind resistant, easier to pull and better looking. Featherlite gooseneck trailers also come standard with tapered noses. 

Deluxe camper doors
Camper doors on Featherlite aluminum trailers are 36” wide, so loading your saddles, tack and other equipment into the dressing room is more convenient.
