Featherlite trailers contain countless helpful features that will provide real benefit to your organization. Below is a partial list of some of the most notable features. Remember that Featherlite allows you to specify exactly the kind of trailer you want. Talk to your Featherlite GSA representative in person to find out more.
Rely on your all-aluminum Featherlite trailer for years!
Trailers made of aluminum are lighter and easier to tow and allow for more payload capacity.
A lighter trailer can save wear and tear on a tow vehicle and increase fuel efficiency, according to Featherlite trailer owners.
With just routine maintenance, aluminum trailers have unmatched durability and superior resistance to rust and corrosion compared to steel trailers.
Aluminum trailers traditionally hold their value much better than steel counterparts. They also cost less to maintain, as many steel trailers need repainting and repairs due to rust.
If you choose an aluminum trailer, make sure that’s what you get. Many trailer manufacturers produce “aluminum” trailers but are only wrapping a heavy steel frame in aluminum sheeting. A true aluminum trailer has both aluminum substructure and aluminum skin.
Featherlite utility trailers and car trailers are equipped with handy-to-use tie downs to secure your cargo.
Rear ramps on Featherlite’s car haulers come with cable assists. This makes getting the ramp down and up much easier.
Featherlite’s standard LED lights are brighter and provide more visibility to others when traveling with your trailer. Plus, they traditionally last longer than conventional lights.
Featherlite custom trailers can be designed with multiple slide-outs to maximize your work area. And they’re easy to operate! Knowing time is valuable, Featherlite utilizes a patented automatic electric slide-out drive system. A manual backup is also built in – just in case of power loss.
Super strong and safe!
Featherlite’s bumper pull trailers come with a heavy-duty trailer tongue that extends back almost to the camper door area. Trailer tongues that extend farther back offer more strength to the entire trailer and make for safer towing.
All Featherlite trailers meet federal safety standards.
Heavy-duty crossmembers underneath Featherlite trailers support your heaviest legal loads.
Smooth, aerodynamic tow!
When traveling down the road, you’ll find Featherlite trailers to be more aerodynamic. Featherlite’s bumper pulls and v-noses on its gooseneck trailers are designed to be more wind resistant and easier to pull.
Weather protection & more!
Featherlite utilizes the “pierce and roll system” used by aircraft manufacturers during the fabrication of its roof, which is unique to trailer manufacturing. Strong, durable stainless steel rivets are driven into the aluminum, but no rivet fully pierces into the roof. Instead a secure, water-resistant crown forms up and around the bottom of every rivet, reducing opportunities for water leakage.
Featherlite bundle all wires in a protective jacket, known as the Featherlite wiring harness. The Featherlite wiring harness provides a watertight seal, protects against wire wear and tear and makes connecting wires easier. Without the harness, the individual wires would hang loose and unprotected.
