Featherlite Trailers driver wins Sports Emmy
1/19/2009
CRESCO, Iowa/January 19, 2009 — The Budweiser Shootout on February 7 marks the start of the 2009 NASCAR season. It also means it’s time for Featherlite drivers and trailers to go on the road to help bring racing action to fans across the country – in person and on TV. One of those drivers is Dave Meyers, lead driver of the Fox Sports Television Featherlite trailer and owner of a new memento – a Sports Emmy..jpg)
Fox Sports won the Sports Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Technical Team – Remote. Awarded in 2007, the entire crew each received their own engraved Emmy a few weeks ago. Meyers drives the trailer from race track to race track during the first half of the race season, which Fox broadcasts. The bottom half of the trailer is used for the director and producer’s offices, and the top part is used to store the equipment needed for the broadcast. Meyers helps with set up and various other tasks throughout the race week, in addition to driving the trailer to the next race track on the schedule. He says he’s looking forward to getting back out on the road in February.
Featherlite is the official trailer of NASCAR. In addition to providing trailers for NASCAR’s TV partners, Featherlite manufactures racecar transporters that haul the cars of many NASCAR teams, in addition to vending trailers and hospitality trailers.
