Featherlite’s new trailer goes off the beaten path
6/16/2009
Cresco, IA (June 16, 2009) – Featherlite’s trailers are designed to be the best on the road. Their latest offering, though, caters to people who like to spend most of their time off road. The Model 1609 “Mod Pod” now has an optional package that transforms the trailer into a camper—an excellent base camp for hikers or cyclists.
Inside the camper are two fold-down chairs and a table. It’s an ideal place not only for meals but also for planning tomorrow’s expedition. The trailer comes with a removable cooler stored in a front-mounted aluminum toolbox to keep food chilled and safe.
Four mesh windows in the canvas area allow enjoyment of the environment and protection from its more annoying aspects. The windows can be covered to keep out rain and high winds. On the inside, three mounted lamps and a detachable lamp/fan that clips on to the canvas keep the trailer well-lit. The camper can fit 2-3 people.
As a camper, the Mod Pod is unique. It’s compact enough to be hauled down trails and two-tracks and tough enough to take the beating those roads can give. It also works as both living quarters and hauling cargo and was built with adventure in mind. Why haul around a TV when you’d rather be outdoors?
