Featherlite Trailers choice of NASCAR champions

12/19/2007

CRESCO, Iowa (December 19, 2007) – Featherlite® Trailers is pleased to congratulate Jimmie Johnson of the Nextel Cup Series, Carl Edwards of the Busch Series and Ron Hornaday Jr. of the Craftsman Truck Series for becoming the 2007 champions of their respective circuits.

Featherlite, a leading manufacturer of aluminum trailers, designs and builds specialized 53-foot race car transporters as well as automotive, recreational, horse, livestock and other specialty trailers. Featherlite is proud to be the transporter of choice for these three championship teams.

Featherlite does more than manufacture race car transporters; they also create custom trailers for NASCAR that serve as office and meeting space for race officials and other personnel. “Featherlite is honored to be the trailer of choice for these three championship teams and so many other teams in the racing world,” said Dave Ferdon, Featherlite Director of Marketing and Specialty Sales.

Featherlite and NASCAR have a long standing relationship, stemming back to the early ‘90’s. This relationship was extended earlier in the year when Featherlite renewed its sponsorship contract.

As part of the sponsorship, Featherlite is the “Official Trailer” of NASCAR. Featherlite also sponsors the weekly “Most Improved Driver Award” in the NASCAR Busch, Craftsman Truck, Grand National Division East and West Series’ as well as the Whelen Modified and Whelen Southern Modified Tours.

Featherlite uses the pierce-and-roll rivet system in the fabrication of its roof to minimize water leakage. This system is also used by airplane manufacturers, and it fastens the aluminum sheets to each other without piercing the inner sheet. Water has a harder time entering the trailer, since no rivet hole fully pierces the trailer’s roof.
