Featherlite recognized with ADDY awards

CRESCO, Iowa (February 24, 2009) — Featherlite® was honored with seven awards at the regional AAF Cedar Valley ADDY® Awards ceremony on February 19 in Waterloo, Iowa.

Featherlite’s advertising and communications department was presented with one Gold and six Silver ADDY Awards. The ADDY Awards, sponsored nationally by the American Advertising Federation, honor outstanding advertising creative in media of all types including print, radio, television, outdoor and web.

Featherlite’s “Tragic Tale of the Steel Trailer” video won two awards for special effects (video or film) and sound design. Credits for this video go to Video & Electronic Media Specialist Mark Stumme and Director of Corporate Communications John Hall.

Silver awards were also presented for Featherlite’s apparel catalog, its ‘Fraternal Twins’ livestock trailer full page color ad, a digitally enhanced motorcycle trailer photograph for its Harley Enthusiast ad and the Me & My Feather photo contest campaign. Graphic Designer Mike Nelson art directed and designed all pieces. Roland Ferrie received recognition for his photography in the livestock trailer ad. Hall was copywriter on all pieces with P.R. & Advertising Specialist Nicole Ausdemore credited for work on the Me & My Feather Young Rider campaign.

Featherlite’s Gold ADDY award was presented to Nelson and Hall for Regional Health Services of Howard County’s Harvest Ball campaign. Featherlite provided complimentary design to RHSHC for this project.
There were 270 entries this year with 91 awards presented. The top 15 award winning pieces, which included the RHSHC Harvest Ball campaign, move on to the District ADDY Awards, the second level of the three-tiered ADDY Awards competition. Winners on the district level are then eligible for the National ADDY competition.

This year’s judges were Mike Caguin, group creative director at Colle+McVoy in Minneapolis, Minn., D.D. Kullman, creative director at Parker Madison Dialogue Marketing in Tempe, Ariz., and Tim Klasinski, senior executive producer at Xpress Professional Services.

Other organizations recognized at the ceremony included Hellman, Courier Communications, ME & V, University of Northern Iowa, VGM, Morgan & Myers and Spinutech, among others.
